Protection for Undocumented Essential Workers

A Bill being presented by Texas Representative, Joaquin Castro, of Texas will provide immediate protection for the estimated 398,000 undocumented workers considered essential during the pandemic. In a statement the Representative stated.

“It is time for essential workers to longer be treated as disposable, but celebrated and welcomed as American citizens.  If your labor feeds, builds and cares for our nation, you have earned the right to stay here with full legal protection, free from fear of deportation.”

Rep. Raul Ruiz (D-Palm Desert), chairman of the Congressional said last week that bills already passed in the house along with executive orders from President Biden give a strong framework for the immigration reform President Biden is seeking.  Existing bills passed by the House include Farm Workforce Modernization Act, Humanitarian Standards for Individuals in Customs and Border Protection Custody Act, American Dream and Promise Act and the Venezuela TPS Act.
